1. When running a car on jack stands, keep in mind that the oil pick up tube is in the front of the engine. If the car is at a steep angle, you could be sucking air with your oil and cause a tick dur to a lack of lube.
2. When I did my last belt change I had a loud lifter tick in cylinders 4 and 6. This continued until the thermostat opened and the cooling system "burped". You may not have let it run long enough to burp. I would get the car level (eliminate air in the oil pickup) and let it run till it burps. Mine cooling system takes about 15 minutes after being emptied.
